What is coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative process that helps you build the skills, confidence, and clarity you need to face challenges and grow. It’s not about telling you what to do—it’s about working with you to help you discover practical tools, strategies, and solutions that fit your life.
In my coaching work, that means:
Coaching is about building skills for life—whether you’re navigating the middle school years as a parent, or stepping into college as a young adult.
For Parents:
Parent coaching is a supportive, collaborative process that helps you build practical tools and confidence to navigate the challenges of raising a growing, independent child.
For College Students:
College coaching is a collaborative process that helps you build the real-life skills, confidence, and problem-solving tools you need to thrive in life away from home.
Coaching Studies uses the metaphor of a car trip. "The client is behind the wheel, while the coach is on the passenger seat. The client decides when to start the trip and the destination. As the co-pilot, the coach simply holds the map and invites the client to explore different roads and make stops along the way to enjoy the trip. The client decides whether they want to do that or not. They choose the speed and the roads to take, the same way they choose what happens during their coaching session."

In my coaching work, that means:
- Asking the right questions to help you reflect and gain insight
- Offering guidance, tools, and resources to build new skills
- Helping you problem-solve real situations—whether it’s parenting challenges or the transition to college
- Supporting your personal growth with encouragement and accountability
- Focusing on strengths, values, and practical solutions—not judgment or criticism
- Working with you and your therapist to bring to life skills discussed in session to every day life
